Sharing the
Vision
Currently,
guides have been prepared for two of the pieces in this collection. Soon,
most will have their own "Guide Through the Art of a Seeker's
Vision." These guides identify the hidden images, share the Bible
story that the piece is based on and tells about the artist and the collection.
As
we and others are drawn close to these pieces to see the incredibly intricate
details, we can be drawn close to the love of our Creator. Each work is
based on Bible verses that show how much God loves us. All the glory goes
to our loving Lord who guides our hearts and hands.
We
see the booklets as guides to the artwork, similar to the guides to the art in
great museums. Also, and most importantly, these guides can pull the
viewer of the art into the message of the Bible. This art and these
booklets, side by side, can become a powerful witnessing tool . . . and more can
be ordered for sharing with others.
Being
with people as they view this art for the first time and having opportunities to
explain the Bible stories has been exciting. At a showing of this
collection at Spirit West Coast Christian Music Festival in July 2002, hundreds
of people signed our guest book and spoke with us about faith in Christ.
It was deeply moving to express belief in Christ as our Savior and share this
faith personally.
The
response to this artwork has been tremendous. However, we can't be with
each viewer to point out the images and share the Good News. Neither can
you. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. These guides help explain
the message behind the artwork.
The
most powerful witness is living as Christ would have us live. Another
powerful witness is sharing the story of how we came to faith in Christ, how He
changed us. Therefore, since neither we nor you can always be present to
share the Bible stories personally, these guides are designed to be kept near
the artwork for the viewer.
